Abstract

Creatine monohydrate is a widely used sports supplement whose benefits are limited by absorption inefficiencies and gastrointestinal side effects. This double-blind, randomized crossover trial in 32 healthy male volunteers compared the bioavailability and safety of an enhanced creatine formulation (CreAMP, containing a proprietary absorption-boosting ingredient) against standard micronized creatine monohydrate, with pharmacokinetic parameters analyzed using Phoenix WinNonlin. The enhanced formulation showed a 38.97% increase in bioavailability, 18.10% higher Cmax, 21.37% longer half-life, and 34.67% lower clearance compared with the standard formulation. These pharmacokinetic advantages suggest the enhanced formulation could offer more efficient creatine uptake and potentially allow reduced dosing frequency for athletes.

Phoenix WinNonlin: Bioavailability for Sports Nutrition

Phoenix WinNonlin quantified nearly 39% higher bioavailability for an enhanced creatine formulation in this study, the kind of exposure gain that could simplify dosing for athletes. Within a Phoenix platform that can be extended with third-party tools, Phoenix WinNonlin is trusted by regulators worldwide, including the FDA.
