John Maringwa

Dr. Maringwa joined Certara (formerly Quantitative Solutions) as an Associate Director of consulting in 2010. Prior to joining Certara, he was a Post-doctoral Biostatistics Research Fellow at the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer in Brussels for two years. His research there mainly focused on determining minimal clinically important differences to aid practitioners in the interpretation of health-related quality of life outcomes from cancer patients.

He is an experienced, multidisciplinary and versatile consultant with expertise in model-based meta-analysis (MBMA) and population PK/PD modeling and simulation with applications in numerous projects covering a broad range of therapeutic areas. Further, he is research-oriented, with special interest in MBMA techniques and a keen interest in application of Bayesian methodology in drug development.

Dr. Maringwa was trained as a Biostatistician and holds a PhD in Biostatistics entitled “Flexible Modelling Techniques and Use of Historical Controls in Animal Studies” from Hasselt University in Belgium obtained in 2008. His PhD was in conjunction with the Pharmaceutical Group of Johnson & Johnson in Beerse in Belgium, where he also acted as a statistical consultant in designing and analysis of pre-clinical cardiovascular safety studies during his PhD studies.
