Summary
Classical assessment of formulation performance is usually based on Cmax, AUC, and Tmax. In some cases, additional parameters can also be important. Partial AUC and C tau are well known examples, but they are not the only ones. For example, for analgesic drugs the time of onset of action is important, for some classes of antibiotics the time over the MIC matters, and for other drugs the AUC or specific concentrations at certain time points may be key.
This webinar will show how simple tools in Phoenix, such as the drug effect model and NCA, can be used to calculate these parameters and enrich the assessment of your data.
The session will include examples related to onset of action, duration of action, evaluation of double peaks, and the use of Phoenix tools to assess locally applied and locally acting drugs in the throat.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Understand how to identify and apply additional PK parameters beyond classical metrics such as Cmax, AUC, and Tmax.
- Learn how to use Phoenix tools, including the drug effect model and NCA, to calculate and interpret parameters related to onset, duration, and local drug action.
- Explore practical examples that illustrate how expanded parameter assessment can enhance formulation evaluation and decision making.
