About Patrizia Berto

Patrizia Berto is Managing Director of the Italian affiliate of Analytica Laser, Certara’s Evidence and Access Group. In her current role she oversees leads generation and leads a number of engagements for clients with a strong focus on developing and implementing strategies to generate evidence for successful market access; she has extensive experience in global management, as well as advanced leadership skills and command of strategic planning and implementation.

Between 1997 and 2011 she founded and directed PBE consulting, an Italian company specialized in providing consulting services to the pharmaceutical & medical technology industry focusing on health economics, P&R and Market Access. Prior to that, she spent ten years at Glaxo/GlaxoWellcome in market research, strategic planning, health economics and market access. Patrizia has extensive knowledge of healthcare and pharmaceutical policy in the Italian NHS, along with a deep understanding of the European health-economic and Pricing & Reimbursement arena, which was developed through an impressive number of International projects conducted in close collaboration with a variety of International agencies, clients and other consulting companies and networks.

Patrizia is author of many articles, published both in Italian and international journals, co-author of books on the application of pharmacoeconomics to clinical oncology and to myelodysplastic syndromes, and more recently on the application of HTA to local decision-making processes. She is also a member of various Scientific Societies including ISPOR (International Society of Pharmacoeconomics & Outcome Research); SIF (Italian Society of Pharmacology); SIFO (Italian Society of Hospital Pharmacy); AIES (Italian Association of Health Economics); SiHTA and HTAi (Health Technology Assessment Italian and International Society). Patrizia has been a lecturer (contract Professor) of pharmacoeconomics at the University of Padova (from 2001 to 2013) from where she also received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master in Business Administration.
