Dr. Olivier Barrière joined Certara in May 2018 as Associate Director, Integrated Drug Development. He has over 10 years of experience in pharmacometrics and modeling of stochastic processes, with expertise in a broad range of areas including population pharmacokinetics, exposure-response modeling and time-to-event analysis. Dr. Barrière has authored or co-authored more than 40 abstracts/manuscripts in the field of PK/PD, and has reviewed for leading journals such as Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (JPKPD) and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
Dr. Barrière was trained as an engineer in Computer Science from Ecole Centrale in 2001. He then worked two years on a European research project in the automotive industry during which he developed a passion for research. At the end of his contract, he completed a PhD in fractal analysis from Ecole Centrale/Université de Nantes in 2007, followed by a first postdoc in genetic algorithms at INRIA and a second postdoc in pharmacometrics at Université de Montreal in 2009, where he focused his modeling and simulation interests to drug development and regulatory decision-making. Before joining Certara, Olivier worked as a pharmacometrician at Syneos Health for 5 years.
