Dr. Nele Mueller-Plock joined Certara Strategic Consulting as Associate Director, Consulting Services in Modeling and Simulation in January 2018. Prior to joining Certara, Nele held various positions in industry with increasing responsibilities. She started her career as a Pre-clinical Modeling and Simulation scientist at Bayer Schering Pharma, Berlin, Germany with a focus on translational PK and PK/PD for human dose prediction. In 2009, she joined Nycomed GmbH in Konstanz, Germany, as a Senior Modeling & Simulation Expert. In this role, she worked in both the clinical and pre-clinical space, supporting drug development with modeling approaches for innovative clinical trial design and leading Translational teams. In 2012, she joined Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where she focused on nonlinear mixed effects modeling approaches to analyze pre-clinical/clinical PK and PK/PD data in a Translational Medicine context. In this role, she led and designed pharmacometric activities for multiple global projects. Nele has experience across a wide range of therapeutic areas over all phases of drug development and brings to Certara 15 years of modeling and simulation experience. Nele is a real team player, and has been repeatedly recognized for her cross-thinking abilities and solution-oriented way of working.
Nele holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Muenster, Germany. In 2007, she obtained her PhD in Clinical Pharmacy from the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, on Target Site Pharmacokinetics of Anti-infectives in the Treatment of Serious Gram positive Infections under the supervision of Prof. Charlotte Kloft. In her free time, Nele likes to spend time with her children and family, and enjoys traveling, reading, and sports.
