Dr. Williams joined Certara in October 2018 as Director, Integrated Drug Development. Daphne trained as a PharmD, Ph.D., at the University of TN, Memphis. The area of her study was medicinal chemistry in which she worked on a series of investigational compounds that she synthesized and evaluated as potential anti-thrombolytic agents. Following graduate school, Daphne completed a 2 year post-doctoral fellowship sponsored by UNC-GSK in research and industry drug development.
Daphne has worked 17+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, at GlaxoSmithKline and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Daphne’s experience covers broad therapeutic experience in clinical pharmacology in areas of metabolic diseases, immunosciences, and supportive care; however, the focus of her career has been in the area of oncology. Daphne has industrial experience in development of small and large molecules as well as extensive regulatory experience (strategy, writing, and etc.) with briefing documents (e.g. IND, NDA, BLA, sBLA, PIP, or Ethnic Insensitivity) Global Regulatory Agencies like FDA, EMA, and PDMA as well as the rest of the world (ROW).
